How common is Tracy as a boy's name in Canada?
It's more common in the USA than in Canada; there have been 59,520 boys named Tracy in the USA alone since 1880 (USA Census 2010).  Charles Dickens used it for a male character in his novel "The Pickwick Papers" (1837).  Up until 1940, it remained almost entirely a boy's name, or a surname.  It was later popularized as a girl's name as well (an epicene name), by the main character Tracy Haven (played by Katharine Hepburn) in the movie "The Philadelphia Story" (1940).  Have you heard of the rapper and actor "Ice-T"?  His real name is Tracy Marrow.  Wikipedia has an interesting account of the name "Tracy" (click here).
